CATHEDRAL CITY, CALIF. New Mexico State fell to No. 7 LSU 9-0 in five innings to open the Mary Nutter Classic in Cathedral City, Calif.
Kayla Green started in the circle for the Aggies. She pitched a scoreless first inning but gave up two runs in the bottom of the second, giving LSU the 2-0 lead. The Tigers scored seven runs in the third, getting hits off both Green and Samaria Diaz to give LSU the 9-0 advantage.
NM State got their offense going in the top of the fourth. Fahren Glackin drew a leadoff walk for the Aggies.
