EL PASO, Texas – The New Mexico State women's tennis team played spoiler Saturday afternoon at the El Paso Tennis Club with a 5-2 win over Battle of I-10 rival UTEP on its senior day.
The host Miners (7-13) took an early 1-0 lead in doubles action when and were bested at the top position 6-1. However, the Aggie (13-9) duo of and took down Rine Nozaki and Erandi Martinez 6-4 on court No. 3 before seniors and took down their counterparts 7-5 for the doubles point.
UTEP knotted things up in singles action when Keijzerwaard was defeated at the top singles slot 6-0, 6-2.
