LAS CRUCES, N.M. – The New Mexico State football team and the Akron have signed a home-and-home series for the 2020 and 2022 seasons Director of Athletics Mario Moccia announced.
The first meeting in nine seasons between the Aggies and Zips is scheduled for Sept. 12, 2020, at Aggie Memorial Stadium. NM State then makes the return trip to InfoCision Stadium in 2022 for an Oct. 1 battle.
New Mexico State trails the all-time series 1-0 with the only lone meeting occurring in 1988 in favor of Akron.
New Mexico State is set to open its 2019 schedule with a pair of road contests.
