LAS CRUCES, N.M. – A monstrous night at the plate for New Mexico State baseball matched only by its superb pitching saw it record a school and Western Athletic Conference record 39 runs Friday night at Presley Askew Field in the series-opener against Mississippi Valley State.
Aggie (3-2) starter was nearly untouchable Friday night, tossing six scoreless innings and gave up just two hits and two walks while striking out a dozen Delta Devils (0-2) as he moved to 2-0 on the year. It was the second-straight start with 10-plus punch outs for the junior righty, who at one point struck out nine-straight batters.
