WESTWEGO, LA. – Returning to action at the Alario Center, NM State (1-5) fell in a match-up with Fresno State (4-3) in its second and final game of the Big Easy Classic, by a score of 64-49.
For the first time this season, NM State secured the opening tip, swiftly earning the first points of the contest following a Lucía Yenes layup. The senior forward would add another basket to keep the game even 4-4 early. Six straight points by Fresno State in the middle of the quarter put the Aggies behind, though an Imani Warren score would make it 14-8 at the end of the first.
