Missed Opportunities Plague Aggies in Close Loss to Hawai’i

LAS CRUCES, N.M. -- The NM State football program battled tough, but ultimately fell to the University of Hawai'i Rainbow Warriors 41-21 Saturday night at soggy and windy Aggie Memorial Stadium.

In defeat, QB Jonah Johnson completed 28-of-47 passes for 280 yards and a passing touchdown. On his birthday, NM State (1-4) WR Jared Wyatt hauled in a career-best nine catches for 114 yards. Wyatt became the first Aggie since Naveon Mitchell to haul in 100 yards (Sept. 18, 2019; @New Mexico) in a game.

The turning point in the contest was a Jonah Johnson second quarter lateral that was deemed backward.
