LAS CRUCES – Turnovers and offensive efficiency were issues for New Mexico State during the nonconference portion of the season, in some cases costing the team wins.
But in the first two games of Western Athletic Conference play, NMSU has fixed the turnover issues and has been efficient on offense. The Aggies, who host Missouri-Kansas City on Thursday night, turned the ball over only eight times in a 78-66 win over Utah Valley last Thursday and only nine in a 79-75 loss to Grand Canyon on Saturday.
“I think the guys have embraced how important a possession is, how important a pass is,” NMSU coach Marvin Menzies said Monday.
