SAN DIEGO, Calif. – The NM State track & field program took their talents to San Diego for the Aztec Invitational hosted by San Diego State University and came away with a string of strong performances. Led by Phetisang Makhethe and her victory in the hammer throw, the Aggies ended the weekend with a pair of first-place finishes, including multiple top-five marks and numerous personal records set.

With all other events scheduled at the SDSU Sports Complex, the hammer throw was the only event to take place at Triton Track & Field Stadium at UC San Diego Friday afternoon.
