Late Rally Not Enough as NM State Falls to ACU

ABILENE, Texas – NM State (6–2) suffered its second consecutive setback, as Abilene Christian (7–3) held strong at home to take a 77–69 decision at Moody Coliseum. Despite a strong second-half scoring effort that saw the Aggies shoot 52.6% from the field, an early shooting slump proved too much to overcome.

After Abilene Christian opened the game with a three from Joseph Venzant to take an early 3–0 lead, the Aggies answered with a 12–5 surge early in the first half. The run was capped by a driving finish from Jemel Jones that put NM State in front, 12–8, with 14:26 on the clock.
