NEW ORLEANS – The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) announced the All-Academic Individual honors for the 2016-17 NCAA Division I Indoor and Outdoor Track & Field seasons on Friday. NM State's Kayli Farmer and Crissey Amberg were recognized by the organization for their accomplishments during the seasons.
Farmer shattered the school record in the javelin throw on multiple occasions throughout outdoor season. The junior threw a new personal best at the NCAA 2017 Outdoor Track and Field Championships West Preliminary and qualified for the NCAA Outdoor Championships by finishing ninth at the meet.
