BROWNSVILLE, Texas – Another thrilling finish on championship Sunday saw Las Cruces native play the hero and clinched the Western Athletic Conference Championship and NCAA Tournament berth for the New Mexico State women's tennis team in a three-set thriller – giving the Aggies a 4-3 victory over Grand Canyon at the Brownsville Tennis Center.
Down 4-3 in the final set, Harlas battled back to take the 5-4 lead before the changeover. However, GCU's Celia Morel fought back to tie things up at 5-5 with Harlas serving next. The hometown hero would rally and go ahead 6-5 over her opponent and tie things up at 30-30 before clinching match point, 6-3, 3-6, 7-5.
