DENVER – Christofer Goncalves of the NM State men's tennis team earned his second-straight Western Athletic Conference Men's Tennis Player of the Month honor on Wednesday as announced by the league office.
The Barquisimeto, Venezuela product went 8-1 in singles and 7-1 in doubles for the month of October. Goncalves started the month by winning the singles flight at the Balloon Fiesta, and then ran his winning-streak to 12 before falling in the quarterfinals match at the ITA Mountain Regional Championships.
On the doubles front, Goncalves and teammate Luis Flores saw their 12-match winning-streak come to an end in the semifinal match at the ITA Mountain Regional Championships.
