SAN ANTONIO, Texas – Led by Garrison Smith, the NM State men's golf program fired a field best 291 (+3) Tuesday to finish second overall at the Lone Star Invitational hosted by UTSA at TPC San Antonio.
Entering the day +5 overall, Smith used five birdies over the first 17 holes to pull into a three-way tie with Michael Rome and Hunter Bott of UTSA. Needing a par on the final hole of his afternoon to remain tied for the lead, Smith recorded a bogey to finish his round at -4 (68) overall and his tournament at +1.
