DENVER – New Mexico State women's soccer goalkeeper Dmitri Fong was named Defensive Player of the Week by the Western Athletic Conference Monday morning.
Fong has played an instrumental role in the Aggies' 1-0-1 thus far in the 2017 season as starting goalkeeper. In the season opener against UTEP, she held the Miners to only one goal with a total of seven saves that led the team to a victory in double-overtime. Two days later, they faced Northern Illinois on the road where she racked up 110 minutes of play time and helped guide the Aggies to a 0-0 draw in another nail-biting, double-overtime match.
