DENVER – After helping guide the Aggies to a 4-2 record over the past week, NM State softball's Fiana Finau was named Western Athletic Conference (WAC) Hitter of the Week, announced the league office Monday. This is Finau's first honor of the season and the fifth of her career.
"Fiana was clutch last week," said head coach Kathy Rodolph. "She is an outstanding hitter who is getting hot at the right time."
Finau went 11-for-19 and scored five runs in the last six games. She racked up three doubles and three home runs, which included a game-winning two-RBI home run against Maine on Sunday.
