Fast Start not Enough, as NM State falls to Utah State

LAS CRUCES, N.M.-- Despite a fast start that included 10-0 first quarter lead, the NM State Aggies fell 35-13 to the Utah State Aggies Saturday afternoon at Aggie Memorial Stadium.

In the setback, QB Jonah Johnson completed 30-of-44 passes for 298 yards. For just the second time this season, Johnson failed to record a touchdown.

The lone NM State (1-7) touchdown came with 4:46 to go in the first, when Juwaun Price rushed in from 11 yards out. The score was Price's sixth of the season and third in two weeks.

Defensively, the Aggies of NM State, held Utah State (7-2) to just one first down in the opening quarter and to just 106 yards of total offense in the opening 30 minutes.
