Dominant Opening Weekend Lands Goncalves Player of the Week Honors

DENVER – The New Mexico State men's tennis senior Christofer Goncalves was named the Western Athletic Conference Player of the Week on Tuesday, April 3, after a dominating opening weekend of league play.

This is the senior's first player of the week honor this spring and first since winning back-to-back player of the month honors in the fall.

Goncalves clinched the first match of WAC player for the Aggies last Thursday when he took down UTRGV's top singles player 6-4, 6-1 for his 20th win of the season. The Barquisimeto, Venezuela, product then defeated Chicago State's Felix Savard on Friday with a 6-4, 6-3 victory.
