DENVER – Sophomore La'Shya Cole was named Western Athletic Conference Field Athlete of the Week on Tuesday. Cole won both the Triple Jump and the Long Jump events at the Willie Williams Classic in Tucson, Ariz. over the weekend.
In the Triple Jump, La'Shya Cole won with a mark of 11.93m (39 ft. 1.75 in.). This performance moves Cole into fifth place all-time in school history, passing Milissa Lowe who put up a mark of 11.87m (38 ft. 11.5 in.) in 2003. Currently, this mark is also the best in the WAC.
In the Long Jump, Cole finished third with a mark of 5.
