LAS CRUCES, N.M. – The Sun Belt Conference announced its football players of the week on Monday. After leading a record-setting defensive front against Idaho on Saturday, NM State defensive end Cedric Wilcots II earned player of the week honors.
Wilcots recorded a career-high six tackles with 3.5 sacks in the team's win over the Vandals. The sophomore's total led the Aggies to a program-high 11 sacks in the contest and set a new single-season record for sacks with 35.
With the help of Wilcots, the NM State defense held Idaho to the lowest opponent point total this season in the 17-10 victory.
