DENVER – Camille Orito was named Western Athletic Conference Women's Golfer of the Week on Wednesday. The senior led NM State to an eighth place finish at the Hawkeye 'El Tigre' Invitational in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico from April 2-4.
The Fresno, Calif. native finished tied for 20th at the end of the tournament. This was her fourth top-25 finish of the season with improved scores each day to move up the leaderboard at the invitational. After shooting a 76 (+4) in the opening round, Orito improved by three strokes in round two and finished with an even-par round of 72 to close out at 221 (+5).
