HOUSTON – NM State shortstop Brandon Forrester has signed an undrafted free agent deal with the Houston Astros, the franchise announced Wednesday afternoon.
Forrester, a native of Sacramento, Calif., appeared in 53 of the Aggies' 56 games while making 52 total starts in the infield. In his lone season with the Aggies, Forrester batted .323 and maintained an on-base percentage of .416. In total, he logged 70 hits, 23 RBIs, nine doubles, a team-high three triples and a pair of home runs.
He also finished the year tied for the team lead in multi-hit games with 20 while also turning in a stretch of 22 consecutive games in which he reached base.
