DENVER – Sophomore Tatyana Battle of the NM State Volleyball team was named this week's Western Athletic Conference Player of the Week after posting career-highs in kills (28) and digs (18) at UT Rio Grande Valley this past Saturday.
However, it was her six kills in the fifth and final set that lifted NM State to the 3-2 victory over UTRGV. The Albuquerque, N.M., native also picked up her seventh double-double of the year and finished the match with a .333 clip to go with three blocks, an ace and 31 points.
The win on Saturday also clinched NM State (21-6, 11-1 WAC) at least a share of the WAC regular-season title with two matches remaining.
