DENVER – NM State men's basketball floor general Ian Baker was named the Western Athletic Conference Player of the Week for the second-consecutive week Monday morning by the conference. Baker led the Aggies to two huge road games last week over Battle of I-10 rival UTEP and Arizona State.
Baker is the first player this season to earn back-to-back conference weekly honors after averaging 19.5 points, 6.5 rebounds and 4.0 assists in those two games for NM State.
The Washington, D.C., product first led New Mexico State to its second rivalry win in four days last Tuesday against UTEP on the road with a game-high 20 points and five boards.
