LAS CRUCES, N.M. – Following a stellar weekend in which she helped lead the Aggies to a perfect 2-0 record in WAC play, freshman Anna Pinaieva earned recognition as the WAC Singles Player of the Week.
The Brovary, Ukraine, native secured two wins at the No. 1 position for the Aggies while dropping just five total games across four sets against the top players from Sam Houston and Stephen F. Austin.
On Friday, Pinaieva tallied a dominant 6-0, 6-1 win over SHSU's Paula Cerda – a match in which she won 11 straight games before Cerda earned her first win.
