SEATTLE, Wash. - Freshman shortstop Jayleen Burton fired a throw to home plate, and Nikki Butler made the tag for the final out to give the Aggies a thrilling 4-3 victory over Utah Valley Friday night in the WAC Tournament. The Aggies advanced to the championship game tomorrow where they will have to beat Seattle U twice to secure the WAC title.
With a 4-3 lead in the seventh inning, the Wolverines were on the verge of putting together a two-out rally. After a double to put the runner on second, the Wolverines were able to get an infield single.
