LAS CRUCES, N.M. – After the opening day of the Herb Wimberly Intercollegiate, the NM State men's golf team has a comfortable lead. Play was suspended due to a lack of sunlight and will resume at 8:15 a.m. on Tuesday. Only two teams, California Baptist and Weber State, did not complete Monday's second round.
The Aggies hold a 13-shot lead over second place Western New Mexico entering the final round. Shooting a 271 (-13) in the second round, NM State torched through the home course on Monday. Garrison Smith leads all players through the first day, shooting a 133 (-9).
