Aggies to face No. 23 Baylor

WACO, Texas — Back in action Wednesday night at 7 at Baylor (570 AM Las Cruces, 93.7 FM in Albuquerque), the New Mexico State men’s basketball team didn’t get much time to relish its home win Monday over Oral Roberts.

And that’s too bad. Because from a strength-of-schedule standpoint, beating the Golden Eagles may be as good as it gets.

From the Big 12, Baylor is off to an 8-2 start and is ranked No. 23 nationally. But there is a noticeable disconnect between the Bears’ ranking and their metrics — Baylor’s Ratings Percentage Index (RPI) is an unremarkable 117.
