PHOENIX – The New Mexico State baseball team swept Grand Canyon with a 7-6 win on Monday, after being rained out on Sunday. With the win, the Aggies are now in a tie for first place in the WAC with Seattle.
GCU got on the board first with two runs in the bottom of the first. Both runs scored on a single up the middle.
The Aggies responded in the third as Daniel Johnson singled up the middle, and then proceed to steal second during the next at-bat. Greg Popylisen drew a full count walk.
