Aggies Stroll Past Short-Handed Cougars

KANSAS CITY – The New Mexico State men's tennis team rolled past a short-handed Chicago State team Friday evening at the Plaza Tennis Center 6-1.

With the Cougars (5-14, 0-2 WAC) down a doubles pair, NM State (11-6, 2-0 WAC) opened the match with a 1-0 edge in doubles play before the No. 2 Aggies team of Stijn de Haan and Mauri Benitez took down their counterparts from Chicago State 6-3 to clinch the doubles point.

Like doubles, CSU couldn't field players at the No. 5 and No. 6 slots – which gave New Mexico State an early 3-0 lead before singles play even began.
