Aggies Snag Four Singles Wins on Day One of John Messick Invitational

FORT COLLINS, Colo. – NM State opened play at the John Messick Invitational today, turning in a solid first day of competition highlighted by four singles victories and a doubles win at the CSU Tennis Complex.

The Aggies were led by a pair of strong debut performances as transfer Emma Petton and junior Whitney Moon each picked up straight-set wins. Petton fought off Colorado State's Annika Planinsek 6-3, 7-5, while Moon battled through for a 6-4, 7-5 win over Sorcha Caves of CSU.

Sophomore Montana Parkinson-Lubold added to the tally with a 6-4, 6-3 decision over Utah State's Maria Paula Ramos Garcia, and Nadia Nemeth dominated her match with a commanding 6-0, 6-0 sweep against Montana State's Lola Bean.
