LAWRENCE, Kan. – New Mexico State women's track and field continued competition at the Western Athletic Conference Championships at Rock Chalk Park on Friday. Yemisi Oroyinyin and Alyssa Covarrubia posted top marks to take home the gold, helping the Aggies move into third place as a team.
Oroyinyin recorded a mark of 14.97m (49-1.5) on just her third attempt to take home the gold in the event. Her personal record ranks second all-time at New Mexico State. Taylor Stutely (12.78m, 41-11.25) and Taniya Mitchell (12.75m, 41-10) also competed in the event and finished sixth and seventh, respectively.
