LAS VEGAS – In the finale of the UNLV Invitational, New Mexico State (1-2) could not overcome large deficits against UNLV (3-0) as they fell in three sets on Saturday. The Rebels took the match with a 21-25, 17-25, 21-25 decision.
"The frustrating thing about today was the ball control," said head coach Mike Jordan. "We have been a pretty good ball control team. We struggled passing today, and gave [UNLV] a lot of free swings. However, they are a good veteran team with several seniors at home, which is always hard.
