LAS CRUCES, N.M. – After taking the opening set, New Mexico State (17-5, 7-0 WAC) dropped the next three sets to New Mexico (11-11, 1-7 MW) in a 25-20, 26-28, 17-25, 23-25 loss in the Battle of I-25. The loss snapped an 11-game winning streak by the Aggies.
Three Aggies logged double digit kills in the defeat. Junior Sasha-Lee Thomas put up 15 kills and a season-high seven blocks. Juniors Jordan Abalos and Kassandra Tohm posted 14 and 10 kills apiece, respectively.
NM State looked prepared as they opened on a 3-0 run.
