LAS CRUCES, N.M. – There was no shortage of offense at the NM State Softball Complex on Friday. NM State combined to score 21 runs across two games while their opponent, Abilene Christian, produced 14 runs between games one and two.
Both teams came into the series on the outside of the WAC Tournament, looking to secure a spot before the season ends on Saturday. The Aggies need to win at least two games this weekend to give them a chance at sneaking into the tournament.
After dropping the first game (11-10), NM State was able to secure game two with an 11-3 victory (six innings) to bring them one win closer to securing a spot in the tournament after getting some help from Seattle U, who swept their doubleheader with California Baptist today.
