LAS CRUCES, N.M. – The New Mexico State baseball team dropped a doubleheader to Stephen F. Austin 14-7 and 5-4 on Saturday.
GAME ONE
Stephen F. Austin came out red hot as the first five batters reached base safely, with four hits and one error. Two runs scored on Kyle Thornell's double, but he was gunned out trying for third. The Lumberjacks ended the top half of the inning with a 2-0 lead.
The Aggies went quietly with no hits, a walk and a fielder's choice in the home half.
SFA score another run in the top of the third as a single up the middle scored a run from second, pushing the score to 3-0.
