Aggies Defy Odds and Settle for a Draw

KANSAS CITY – Despite being outshot 34-6 the entire game and 9-2 in overtime, the New Mexico State women's soccer team was able to settle for a 1-1 draw against UMKC thanks to the stellar play of and the Aggie defense.

The UMKC (4-7-3, 1-0-1 WAC) offense relentlessly attacked the NM State (4-9-1, 1-0-1 WAC) defense and tested Martin the entire first-half, outshooting the Aggies 14-3. In the 36th minute of the game, Gabby Campell's shot was blocked by the Roos' defense and led to their counter attack. Kelsey Mothershead took the first shot on the attack, but was denied by Martin.
