Aggie hoops: Baker is better than OK in rout of UTEP

EL PASO — New Mexico State listed guard Ian Baker as questionable to play in Saturday night’s game at El Paso.

Baker not only played, but he left no question as to his great value to the Aggies. He scored 17 of his career-high 26 points in the second half as New Mexico State pulled away for a 73-53 win over host UTEP.

Baker hit six 3-pointers, also a career best, and had five assists for NMSU (6-5), which snapped a three-game skid. Pascal Siakam had 14 points and 10 rebounds while Jalyn Pennie scored a career-high 14.
