DENVER – After an impressive weekend at the Brown Invitational, junior Jordan Abalos has been named the Western Athletic Conference Player of the Week for the week of Sept. 12-18, the conference announced on Monday. This is her first-ever WAC Player of the Week honor.
A native of Safford, Ariz., Abalos led NM State to the Brown Invitational title with a sterling 3-0 record and was named tournament MVP for her performance. For the weekend, she averaged 5.60 kills on .431 hitting, 3.80 digs and 0.40 service aces per set. In a sweep against Central Connecticut State on Friday, Abalos racked up a career-high 22 kills on a .
