TUSCALOOSA, ALA. – No. 2 Alabama (2-0) scored touchdowns on five of its first seven possessions and went on to defeat New Mexico State (0-2), 62-7, Saturday afternoon inside Bryant-Denny Stadium.
Redshirt sophomore quarterback Josh Adkins threw his first touchdown pass of the year in the third quarter. The Aggie signal caller hit senior running back Jason Huntley with a pass behind the line of scrimmage, and Huntley did the rest, carrying the ball three yards into the end zone for the score.
Adkins finished the game with 145 passing yards and one touchdown, completing 19-of-30 pass attempts.
