It’s not a secret anymore: the University of New Mexico women’s basketball team is here to compete.
Fresh off of an upset over No. 16 ranked Marquette on Monday, the Lobos (2-0) will host NAIA competitor Northern New Mexico (2-4) on Wednesday evening at Dreamstyle Arena.
New Mexico’s victory on Monday night marked many monumental achievements for the program— including most points scored by a player in a game, the first time the Lobos defeated a ranked team since 2010 and the first time the Lobos beat a top-20 team since 2006.
In that victory, though, it was clear that junior forward Jaisa Nunn was the best player on the floor, even with a ranked opponent sharing the court with the Lobos.
