It’s been a tough go as of late for the University of New Mexico women’s basketball team.
On Saturday, the Lobos (16-6, 4-5 MW) traveled to Colorado State for its second straight conference road matchup, though they lost, 74-71, in overtime—marking the team’s third straight loss in conference, putting them at 4-5 overall in the Mountain West.
The Rams (14-7, 6-4 MW), with 26 seconds left on the clock, drained a 3-pointer to break a 71-71 tie, and take home the victory. In the last three and a half minutes, UNM wasn’t able to score, missed its final five shots during that frame—including two 3-pointers in the final eight seconds that could have tied the game.
