One might say the UNM women’s basketball team put on a pretty good exhibition Wednesday night.
Freshmen Jaisa Nunn and Jannon Otto led a balanced, aggressive outing as the Lobos opened 2015-16 with an easy 78-41 exhibition victory over Western New Mexico at the Pit. Nunn finished with a game-high 18 points, Otto scored 12, and the dozen players in uniform for UNM all scored.
The Lobos were without two returning starters as Khadijah Shumpert (illness) and Alexa Chavez (foot) watched the game in street clothes. But on this night the Lobos never missed them, dominating the paint and leading by as many as 41 points.
