He was born on an air base in Louisiana in 1954, one year before his father, Col. Ed Walker, and mother Katherine moved their family to Albuquerque.
Stu Walker grew up with four brothers in a family that, from that moment forward, considered itself New Mexican. Even when the oldest brother embarked on a career in the space industry and retired in the Midwest. Even when other three, perhaps because of the influence of a theater-loving mother, developed a desire to entertain and followed those dreams to Los Angeles.
“Stu,” said brother Alan, “was the one who kept his foot in the dirt in Albuquerque.
