Volleyball: UNM gets long-awaited home win vs. UNLV

The last time New Mexico beat UNLV in Albuquerque, only one current player was on the roster.

Four years later, the Lobos defended their home court.

With the win Saturday afternoon, the Lobos (11-9 overall, 4-3 Mountain West) move into a tie with UNLV (11-8, 4-3) for fourth place in the Mountain West, and are a half game out of third place with 11 games left in the conference season.

“UNLV was in second place [in the MW] and it’s a great win for us,” New Mexico head coach Jeff Nelson said. “Last year they got us twice, we were finally able to get them back.
