Updated: Krebs: Evaluation of Neal’s job status will wait until offseason

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — After Tuesday night’s 27-point home loss to San Diego State, the largest margin of victory in the 82-game men’s basketball series between the Aztecs and New Mexico Lobos, the calls for change atop the program are increasing.

UNM athletic director Paul Krebs was non-committal, however, on Wednesday when asked by the Journal if the coaching seat under Craig Neal is heating up.

“Craig Neal is our basketball coach,” Krebs said. “We have high expectations for our program, as he does. And we’ll evaluate the program at the end of the year like we always do when the season’s completed.
