ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — If ever a team needed a productive week it’s the University of New Mexico Lobos.
With the Mountain West Conference women’s basketball tournament fast approaching, New Mexico (14-13, 7-9) has two games left to solve the offensive puzzle that baffled players and coaches in recent games. The first opportunity comes tonight when the Lobos visit San Diego State at Viejas Arena.
UNM’s up-and-down offense hit a new low in Saturday’s 51-43 defeat at Fresno State, managing just 19 points through the first three quarters. That same offense produced 24 points in the fourth but it wasn’t nearly good enough to avoid a loss or UNM’s lowest point total of the season.
