UNM football: Carrier, Bratton enjoy bowl atmosphere

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — For Kasey Carrier and LaMar Bratton, the contents of this bowl are far more sweet than bitter.

Bratton, a first-team All-Mountain West Conference offensive lineman last season, and Carrier, the University of New Mexico’s all-time single-season rushing leader, roam the UNM practice field on a daily basis. Carrier is a strength-and-conditioning assistant, Bratton a graduate assistant on offense.

Carrier came to Albuquerque in 2009, Bratton the following year – both recruited to UNM by former coach Mike Locksley. Both, for all their on-field excellence, exhausted their eligibility without having played in a bowl game.
