Thomson Signs With St. Louis Cardinals

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – University of New Mexico baseball starting pitcher Colton Thomson has signed a professional contract with the St. Louis Cardinals organization.

Thomson wrapped up his career this year by serving as a weekend starter and the Friday night ace during the Lobos' late season run. He was named the Co-Mountain West Championship Most Valuable Player after pitching a complete game shutout of Nevada to open the tournament.

Overall, Thomson finished his senior season with a 3.61 ERA and an 82 record in 15 appearances. His strikeout to walk ration was over 3/1, with a team-high 82 punch outs on the season.
