ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – The University of New Mexico baseball team has wrapped up its season, marking another year of consistency for the program. The Lobos won a Mountain West Conference Championship and advanced to its fifth regional tournament in seven years.
The Lobos' trip to the NCAA Lubbock Regional put the program in a rare group. Of all the school's in this year's NCAA Regional field, 23 have matched the Lobos' five appearances in seven years. However, most of that group is made up of "Power 5" conference institutions. The Lobos are one of only seven schools in this year's NCAA field not from a Power 5 conference to make five of the last seven regionals (New Mexico, Coastal Carolina, Rice, Dallas Baptist, Oral Roberts, Cal State Fullerton and Louisiana-Lafayette).
