Missed shots from just about everywhere added up to a missed opportunity for the University of New Mexico women’s basketball team Saturday. Despite a wild rally to force overtime, the Lobos couldn’t convert often enough to avoid a 69-65 double-overtime loss to Fresno State at the Pit.
Khadijah Shumpert (23 points, 10 rebounds) and Cherise Beynon (17 and 10) posted double-doubles, but it wasn’t enough for the Lobos. Moriah Faulk scored nine of her team-high 16 points in the overtime periods and hit a pair of critical 3-pointers to pace the Bulldogs.
